Cancer’s a drag - let’s fight it!

A DRAG queen aims to reign supreme at a charity night in memory of a friend who lost her battle against cancer. Singer Gary Manson, from South Shields, will become his alter-ego Gina Strings for an evening of music and entertainment to raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The 27-year-old will also launch his debut album, Superwoman, at the event in Yates’s Wine Lodge, Mile End Road, South Shields, on Thursday, May 31. The evening is in memory of Newcastle woman Christina Carmichael, who lost her battle with cancer at the age of just 31 in September.
